Some would call this antique country furniture, others call it “primitive”. Whatever you call it, it is a superb antique day bed – often called a Hired Man’s Bed -- or a child’s bed. (You say “tom-A-ato, I say tom-AH-to!)
This antique daybed with wonderful turned posts dates to the early to mid 19th century with mortise and tenon construction. The pegs are slightly raised as appropriate for its age. Slats are set in groves on the long sides.
Fitted with a modern custom mattress, which is included, it’s perfect for use today as a bench. And, it’s a great fit for the foot of a king-sized bed. The mattress does have some discolored areas, but doesn't appear to be liquid stained.
Coverlet shown on the bed is NOT included.
Dimensions:
28” High (top of posts)
