A Chinese export, most likely from the 1930s, this lovely soapstone vase is intricately carved in an oriental design of leaves. Rather than a double vase, it might be a double toothpick holder, or match holder.
Two small vases at each end of the carving measure just about 1 deep.
The entire carving measures just short of 5 long and about 1 ½ wide and stands almost 1 Ύ high (obviously, measurements are difficult due to the irregular shape).
The word China is incised on the back.
Overall condition appears to be very good, with the only flaw noted is some chipping at the mouth of one of the vases.
