This is quite a nice late Victorian antique golden oak hatbox dresser, decorated with applied carving. It is especially nice with the hat box raised on legs next to the swivel (or tilt) mirror. This antique dresser dates to the turn of the century (1880 – 1910, or the Golden Oak Period).
One of the outstanding features of this antique oak dresser is the size of the 2 main drawers. They are quite large, compared to many drawers found in antique dressers. The length of the beveled mirror is also nice because it is nearly a full length mirror. It serve particularly well in a guest bedroom with Victorian furnishings. Also perfect for Victorian decorating in a bed and breakfast!
The beveled tilt mirror is 39" x 17 1/4". The 2 good sized drawers are each 35" wide x 14" deep x 7" high, and of course there is the hatbox cabinet with a smaller drawer for your collars and other niceties! The 4 brass drawer pulls on the two large drawers all match, but the single brass drawer pull on the collar drawer is a close match. The pulls are not original to the dresser.
This wonderful Victorian hatbox dresser is in excellent condition with a nice finish. There is one area on the top back corner of the hat box where the veneer is slightly
peeling (see photo). The original mirror is in very good condition. The visibility is still very good but there are some distressed areas.
Over all measurements: 43.5" wide x 83" high x 19 1/4" deep
Price is for dresser only, items shown as decoration may be available separately.
